For most of my life, I have always had to defend my process of doing things. I’m a person who thrives in doing things my way and has never set out to do things just like everyone else. Fortunately for me, I never bought into not doing something just because no one else was doing it. I find this is a great way to continually challenge myself to become better at any and everything I do.

I say that to say…don’t get side tracked by focusing on the WHAT of an action. The real power is found in the WHY of an action. So many situations in life could or would be avoided if you were to begin to seek out the true intent of actions instead of merely focusing on the content. Although this perspective may not always be the easiest to grasp, it has the greatest potential of being the most worthwhile.

I Was Flying... Now I'm Crashing.

I'm gonna be honest here:

I am having a hard time figuring this whole life thing out. I mean does an individual make their own life or does life make you. I say that because recently its as if my life is a Rubric's Cube and I can't get all the colors to match up. And don't get me wrong, I am not trying to write a sappy ass, emotional post, but an open and honest one. They say rags to riches--but really...riches to rags, on some real shit. I am trying to stay positive as I figure my life out.

One thing that I know for sure is when striving towards your goals, there is a thin line between being realistic and being straight up delusional. This is when it’s extremely important that you be completely honest with yourself…with not only where you’re going, but where you currently are.

Unfortunately I’ve seen a lot of people get so lost in their goals that they miss out on opportunities that could’ve helped them. Don’t allow yourself to get blinded by the brightness and allure of your dreams. Now by all means once you made up your mind of what your going to do, go out and do it…but understand that there are many steps required to get there. And not one step is more important than the other. Until your goal is reached, consider each step as bridge to your destiny.

And PLEASE THINK carefully about your goals! I find nothing more tragic than a goal that’s not well thought out. The one that really bothers me the most is when someone is just trying to live out something seen on TV. This is because I know that the final product of what’s shown on TV is not fairly balanced with reality and illusion…it’s mostly illusion. And if you don’t understand that, it’s a good chance that you will become delusional.

Decide what you want out of life. Then set your goals high. For the world will turn aside and let you pass if you know where you are going.

On the real--the greatest mistake you can make is to be afraid of making one. The earlier you make those mistake, and realize them, the better. Don’t be afraid to try. The difference between greatness and mediocrity will be how often you try. No one has ever possessed enough power, prestige, or knowledge to always win. It’s fundamental to life that you’ll win some and you’ll lose some.

Turn your possibilities into reality by simply taking action. I have had to learn this lesson the hard way recently..and as down as I may be at times, I know I gotta keep on clawing my way. This is a message that I think everyone can take something out of..even if you are thinking...wtf is Calvin talking about...chances are you are probably a hater who hasn't realized that we are all human.

Keep it pimpin, pimpin.

Look at the past simply as moments you’ve passed. There’s no reason to focus on the pot holes that are now in your rearview mirror. And if you’re paying too much attention to them, you’re more likely to hit the ones that are surely going to be in front of you.

Don’t get too caught up in future moments either, because no one is qualified to predict it 100%. It all about probability. When seeking out any opportunity in life, my best advice is to go where those opportunities are found, and then simply commit to out working any and every body in order to get it!!!

And by all means, never choose not to go after what you want because of your current moment. Understand that every moment is temporary and only extended in one’s mind!!!

I leave you with a great quote by fellow thinker Napoleon Hill that compliments my point…”Do not wait; the time will never be “just right.” Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along. “

So, tonight while flipping back and forth from the basketball game, I was trying to find out something about what's going on in Iran, and on CNN I can watch a rerun of Larry King interviewing several gentlemen without shirtsleeves who apparently assemble choppers. On Fox Mike Huckabee is trying to explain why Jesus hates credit card relief. MSNBC is rerunning something about a prison in New Mexico. CNBC is evaluating whether college students should be able to afford Chanel tote bags.

Have you ever flirted with the idea of being a porn star? Let’s be honest here. There’s no need to fear judgment. This is a judgment-free zone lol. I’ll be the first to admit I’ve considered the part a time or two. After all, who wouldn’t want to get paid to have sex?

Social "stigmas" aside, being a porn star might be an even cooler job that being a crew member for Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations. Chances are, however, the Paul Rudd’s and Brad Pitt’s of the world wouldn’t be my co-stars. Nope. Instead you’ve got lookers like Ron Jeremy and his Loch Ness Monster to bury you.

And if that isn’t bad enough, here’s something else to consider: The Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation recently announced that an adult actress in the Southern California’s pornography business just tested positive for HIV. And while religious and conservative types alike might use this opportunity to bash the adult entertainment industry, it should be noted that this is the first outbreak since 2004. The adult actress’ partners have been tested and came up negative.

Still, Dr. Jonathan Fielding, health officer for Los Angeles County, announced his office would be launching an investigation.

“You wouldn’t send someone to work on a high-rise building without a hard-hat, so why are we allowing these performers to perform without condoms?” said Fielding. He added, “Let’s say you were infected on Monday, tested on Wednesday and perform on Friday. You would show up as negative, but you’re not negative.”

Not that I know people left and right who’ve tested positive for HIV, but I must say, one person in five years is pretty damn incredible when you consider the industry and how often the adult actors have sex. While I may understand Dr. Fielding’s concerns, the idea of it making it mandatory for adult performers to wear a condom seems utterly absurd, if you ask me.

I say that partly for selfish reasons--Who wants to flick their bean to a dude plowing a lady with a condom on? lmfao--(i had to say it. My cousin said bean today so I wanted to use it), and partly because it’s just a little to Big Brother if you ask me. That’s their industry, they know what they’re doing, and aside from this incident, the adult film industry seems to have their shit together in that regard.

I’d much rather see Dr. Fielding and others spending their time teaching the youth and young adults of America the importance of protected sex, frequent HIV and STD testing, but most of all, confidence. Yes, confidence. Maybe then high school girls would realize that letting your boyfriend fuck you in the ass (instead of their vag) does not constitute them as virgins– despite whatever MTV’s quality program might have them believe. Yes, MTV. I blame it all on MTV.

Kanye West/Lady GaGa Tour In The Making!!!!!

Kanye West revealed on his visit to The View that he’ll embark on a joint tour with Rolling Stone’s new Hot Diva — Lady Gaga — later this year. Details are still sketchy, but West said, “She’s talented and so incredible that she’s not an opening act. We’re doing it together, with no opening act.” Perez Hilton says that Gaga and Yeezy will instead spend the entire show onstage performing together, but again, West provided no other major information regarding the nature of their trek together, including possible tour dates. One thing is certain: This show will definitely be one of the hottest tickets this year.

It’s no surprise that Kanye is a fan of Lady Gaga, who fronted Rolling Stone’s annual Hot Issue. West recently interpolated Gaga’s “Poker Face” hit into the Kid Cudi track “I Make Her Say” or “I Poke Her Face” as the kids on the streets call it. Kanye has even gone as far as saying Gaga is this generation’s Madonna. Kanye is also no stranger to recruiting the top talent on the charts to join him on tour, as his epic Glow In The Dark tour last year featured Rihanna, Chris Brown, N.E.R.D. and Lupe Fiasco. More details on the trek, which Rock Daily is already calling the “808s & Poker Face” tour, as they filter in.

Babies & Poverty...

I was reading an article online recently and came to the conclusion that babies are already synonymous to poverty. The more babies there are, the poorer we will get. That's how I read family planning advocates' appeal to support the reproductive health bills. They say that the rapidly growing population negatively impacts the country 's economic development. Moreover, they are not just talking about any baby, but they are targeting the ones born from the "least urbanized, least educated, and poorest segments of the population" (now who is pro-poor here?). Why not improve the urbanization so that there will be less squatter's areas? Why not make sure that all children get educated and not forced to work to support their parents? I don't really get it how pro-choice expands opportunities when the current options already exclude a fair distribution of wealth, a right to education, etc.

Perhaps I can negotiate, I can collaborate with these family planning advocates if their "appropriate information" funds (which they aim to get with the approval of the reproductive health bill) will include buying and disseminating educational tapes like those sold by the American Life League's Baby Steps which show how life develops throughout a baby's 16 stages of growth. Let the adults see who are the recipients of a world of opportunities or rather, the victims of exclusionary measures.

The Coincidental Universal Language

There is a spirit around us, it guides us, it drives us.
It forms coincidences. Some call it destiny, others just call it a coincidence.
But was it a coincidence that the universe created us? All these little things that came together out of nowhere, out of nothing and suddenly we came to life with a bang...? It's Weird.

We shall also go out with a bang, not only our sun or the earth, or the universe itself. But also when we, us humans die, we die with a bang, leaving things behind that needed us to sustain themselves. You think that tree in your backyard will live with or without you? Of course it will, but you sould have nurtured it, taken care of it, provided a cure when illness came.

I sense this spirit, sometimes so strong, other times so minimal. I believe that my best ideas have come about when I felt it all around me (the spirit). When the elements came together, fell into place, like it just made sense. It’s intuition, feelings, sensing. Or is it something else, is it this intertwined bond all things in the universe have in common and feel?

Just another reason to continue living for me, if not the reason for me to be here is to feel the spirit. I can’t say if it’s a spirit or not, who knows. It might just be some energy fields we are perceiving. But it is there, it makes sure we are satisfied, happy. Our actions influencing it. Turning it around for good or bad. Some say it’s karma, some say it’s the force. Do we really want to know? Let’s just enjoy it being here, enlightening us with it’s power.

I will be the first to admit that I take a lot of things for granted. Whether it be the people in my life or just opportunities in which I don't pursue at the right angle. However, I am living & definitely learning. I know I am destined for greatness. It may not happen today...and it definitely didn't happen yesterday or any day prior to that. But one thing I do know... is that it is going to happen. When it does happen-- I will be ready.
